They are known for creating their own events such as "Mallets, Brass and Steel", a concert celebrating a unique collaboration with University of Delaware Percussion Ensemble and the University of Trinidad and Tobago Brass Ensemble. Their recently concluded event, "Reaching Souls", was a concert with a difference featuring 13 other steel bands all playing inspirational music.
Supernovas have developed a reputation for having one of the most vibrant stage sides, performing in parades, "blockos" and concerts at home and abroad. In August of 2015, they represented Trinidad and Tobago at The Caribbean festival of arts, (Carifesta XII), held in Haiti.
The group is also involved in educational programmes and community outreach projects in their community. This stands as testament of the First Citizens Supernovas' commitment to the youth, culture and national development of Trinidad and Tobago.
